In the Philippines, an educational campaign to promote the use of U.S. dehydrated potatoes in everyday, familiar local food products yielded multiple new users – and aided in the doubling of U.S. dehy exports from $6.4 million in MY 14/15 to $12.8 million in MY 15/16. A Potatoes USA activity that has been particularly useful in reaching a broader range of users has been a series of seminars dubbed “banchettos,” which are educational trade events conducted in shopping malls, whose target is smaller companies.
