What if textile mills could see firsthand how their competitors were successfully using U.S. cotton in their mills to increase profits, and learn their best practices? Cotton Council International (CCI) launched the MAP-funded COTTON USA Mill Exchange Program in Southeast Asia to test this concept, and these face-to-face meetings led the participating mills to increase their U.S. cotton consumption as a result. Mills in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam expect to purchase an additional 32.7 million pounds of U.S. cotton, valued at $23.8 million, in 2017 following their participation in the COTTON USA Mill Exchange Program.
