The trade dispute with China has had a significant impact on U.S. cotton exports. Exports to China decreased 33% from MY (Cotton marketing year) 17/18 to MY 18/19. This represents 5% of all U.S. cotton production and provides a large gap to fill. To address this issue, Cotton Council International (CCI) has focused on expanding exports to growing markets in South and Southeast Asia.
